Cook County Schools Employees will have two retirement sources:
The first is a defined benefit pension plan. For certified employees, this is the Teachers' Retirement System (TRS). For the classified employees, it is the Public School Employees' Retirement System (PSERS).
The second is a supplemental retirement plan.
Plan Details

Pre-tax dollars can be saved in a 403(b) and/or 457(b) plan.

Post-tax dollars can be saved in a Roth 403(b) and/or Roth 457(b) plan.

Contributions will be deducted from your paycheck and go directly into your account at OneAmerica.

Savings limits up to $17,500 per year in each account. (Example- $17,500 can be saved in a 403(b) and $17,500 can be saved in a 457(b) for a total of $35,000 per year). If you are age 50 or older you are eligible to save an additional $5,500 in both plans.

Loans from your savings are available.

Contributions can be started or stopped any time throughout the year.

Access to your account is available online and you will get statements will be mailed to your home.
